BB13 Rantiness - All things Big Brother 13, composed by a slightly neurotic, obsessive, overachieving, over-worked, feministic, closet Big Brother live feed watcher.
*My apologies, my computer is being sent back to HP for constant issues. Hopefully it will be repaired soon so I can continue blogging BB13!! Worst timing ever!!
*WARNING - This blog contains SPOILERS. I watch both the LIVE FEEDS and SHOWTIME BBAD and will write about both at my convenience :)
(This site was created, and looks best, using Firefox).
Here it is, the anticipated first cast picture taken in front of the BB 13 house moments before the housemates entered!
Just my two cents:
Lawon --
What on EARTH are you wearing? I thought you were going to be our "fashionista" this summer. You sorta look like a hillbilly. All you are missing is a stick with a tied on sack slung over your shoulder.
Dominic --
Typical All-American Pretty Boy (Umm, I mean Hollywood model). Next!
Cassi --
Love ya girl but seriously, CAN YOU BREATHE IN THOSE PANTS?
Shelly --
Typical Soccer Mom (Shh, but she isn't, she's a VIP of a major corporation; that's why I love her so much!).
Adam --
Grunge went out in the 90's (unfortunately) all you are truly missing is a plaid flannel and I think the look you are going for would be complete.
Porsche --
Sweetie, you aren't fooling anyone. You are about as far away from a "typical sweet all-American girl" as they get. Nice try with the cutesie dress.
Keith --
Oh boy Keith, I know your inflated ego makes you want to completely stand out to everyone but the flower is overkill. If it squirts water you should give it to Lawon.
Kalia --
Others have knocked your dress, I think it's kinda cute. You know what would make that dress smokin' hot? A push-up bra.
Wow. This is by far the most poorly dressed FOTH picture I have ever seen in the last 12 seasons! Thank god our Dynamic Duos entering the house all have "been there done that" and have style sense.
Count him out of a “showmance” this season because Adam left a girlfriend back home to be on Big Brother. He thinks he will bring a uniqueness to the season with his heavy metal cuddling ways! Adam claims his biggest fear about being in the house is people not getting to know him; so essentially, not forming bonds with other housemates. Adam will do anything it takes to win Big Brother 13. See his CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Adam Poch Age: 39 Hometown: East Brunswick, N.J. (living in Hoboken, N.J.) Occupation: Music Inventory Manager Three adjectives that describe you: Funny, loud and cuddly Favorite activities: Concerts, dining out, movies, TV, Broadway plays, hanging with friends and traveling. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? No music, TV, concerts, sports - but mostly no music. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: I am a born leader and a very friendly guy, so it will not be hard for me to make friends. Most of all, I plan to stay cool with as many people as possible so that whoever has power will not view me as a threat. Which past BIG BROTHER cast member did you like most or least? Like: Evel Dick, Howie, Ronnie, Janelle and Rachel. Dislike: Cappy, Ivette and that whole Nerd Herd. What are you afraid of? Large barking dogs. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? I once ate an XXL pizza all by myself! More seriously, being able to maintain a job in the industry that I love for 17 years. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... worry about the things you can control and deal with the things you can't. What would you take into the house and why? A micro cassette recorder so I could hear what others are saying, a big bottle of Bourbon and my heavy metal sneakers. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? I would still remember who was there for me before. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Adam’s Interview: It’s refreshing to see someone unique on the show. Often it seems Big Brother casting picks a certain “type” of individuals. This year is different and indeed diverse. Adam is a true Big Brother fan and has watched since the first season. Adam even gives a shoutout to “Hamster Watch,” “Real Network’s Big Brother Live Feeds” and “Showtime After Dark” and all of us blogging live feed watchers, proving his loyalty to the show.
Wow! Adam has lost 100 lbs in the last year and has been working out/training in anticipation and hopes of being on Big Brother. He said he watched last year’s Big Brother housemate, Enzo, and knew he needed to be in good physical shape to win challenges.
Favorite Adam quote: “…So, waking up with her on Saturday and Sunday mornings watching “Beverly Hills 90210” in bed, is what I’m going to miss the absolute most.” (Adam talking about how much his lovely girlfriend means to him and how much he will miss her).
My final thought: Honestly, Adam appears to be such a genuinely nice guy that I can’t help but mark him down as an early favorite.
Cassi is very close to her father and feels that will be the person she will miss most during this experience. She describes herself as “quirky” and “fun” and she is happy with who she is as a person and doesn’t much care what other people think of her. Hard to get a rise out of her and she seems to be pretty drama free; I think she’ll be surprising herself if she actually gets into any catty fights in the house. Cassi is a finicky eater so that will probably be her biggest challenge; she claims to stick with a few choice items in her diet and being without them and on the BB diet will surely be difficult.
Dan is her favorite former Big Brother player. We won’t be watching a showmance blossom with Cassi; she claims that getting involved with someone romantically is a very slow process and not one that would take place in a mere 3 month season of BB. If she finds a connection they can pursue it on the outside. As far as gameplay, she’ll lie if she has to but will always remain herself. See her CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Cassi Colvin Age: 26 Hometown: Allen, Texas (living in Nashville, Tenn.) Occupation: Model Three adjectives that describe you: Stubborn, sincere and funny Favorite activities: My favorite thing to do is to sit around (preferably outside and with men) and have a couple of beers. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? It will be hard to be cut off from the world for (hopefully) three months, but what are a few months in the grand scheme of things? Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: I'm going to play the same way I live - be sweet and kind to everyone but always remember it's a game and everyone's in it for themselves. My plan is to stay neutral, fly under the radar, don't be a threat and play well in competitions. What are you afraid of? Heights! I don't care for insects or snakes, but for the sake of the game, bring them on. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Having a successful career. I've made it happen through persistence and devotion and I haven't let it change who I am. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... go hard or not at all. Suck everything you can out of life and live with no regrets. Never treat anyone as if they're less than you because you haven't walked in their shoes. What would you take into the house and why? Music because it is a powerful tool that can literally alter your mood, books because they're a relaxing escape and lotion because I need it. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? Fame has never been something I've actively sought out, but if it happened through the show I would absolutely exploit it to the fullest. It would be a reward and blessing to know I have the tools to always support my family and myself. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Cassi’s Interview: A recently converted Big Brother fan. She’d never really been into the show until she began the casting/interview process when she began cramming in the seasons (again, never thrilled with these casts but she seems to be a nice enough girl). Cassi has since caught up on several seasons and claims that season 12 has been her favorite. She believes she identifies most with Britney; in the beginning she didn’t agree with Britney’s “cattiness” but admits she played a great “social game” and shares some of her own “quirky” attributes. The housemate she’d least like to be compared to is Rachael because she “wouldn’t want to be looked at as unintelligent.”
Her strategy will be having “no strategy.” Cassi has a fear of heights and is a “picky” eater (no seafood, no red meat to name a couple) so both of these will be interesting when it comes to competitions. With the money, if she wins, Cassi plans to pay off her parent’s house and then buy her own little piece of property in Nashville.
Favorite Cassi Quote: (On Rachael) “…Not the smartest crayon in the box.” (Can’t wait to see them together in the house if Rachael does indeed enter the house!)
My Final Thoughts: Stunning – Such a natural beauty. Confidence empowers her. I think she’s my other favorite (Love Adam, Lawon and Kalia too!) and hope she gets far in the game.
Dominic – The Highly-Competitive, Non-STD Sportin, Pre-Med Model
Dominic is looking forward to breaking away from “real life” and having a little fun on Big Brother. He’s yet another who feels naked leaving behind his cell phone. Very good looking guy, said to be a model. He’s a fan of Jeff’s and a very UN-fan of Jesse’s (yay!) – These were stated below in written questionnaire. When asked on video he said that Enzo was his favorite player of all time (loved Enzo as well!). Strategic moves will be to law low in the beginning and then come mid-season make a twist and start playing hard, “stabbing people in the back...” etc. He’s not looking for a showmance for fear of a target being put on his back but definitely doesn’t seem opposed to flirting. Lastly, Dominic’s biggest fear is sharing the communal bathroom (mine too! Yuck!). See his CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Dominic Briones Age: 25 Hometown: San Mateo, Calif. Occupation: College Student at San Francisco State Three adjectives that describe you: Funny, outgoing and good-hearted Favorite activities: Riding motorcycles and mountain bikes. I'm a speed freak. I love the rush of flying on land. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? Not being able to leave or go outside of the house. It will be tough not being able to go where I want, when I want. Also, not being able to talk to my family and friends. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: Build trust, build alliances and make friends. Together we are strong, apart we fall. Also, I don't want to be too strong too soon. Flying under the radar in the beginning is key. Which past BIG BROTHER cast member did you like most or least? I like Jeff for sure. He seemed like a cool dude and played the game well. Even though he didn't win, he was well liked and won "America's Favorite Houseguest." I didn't like Jesse because he was too cocky. What are you afraid of? I'm afraid of STDs. Everything else, I can adapt to. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Having amazing relationships with my family and close friends. Honestly, at the end of my life, that's what is most important to me. How many people can say they really love their family? Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... don't worry about a thing cuz every little thing is gonna be alright. What would you take into the house and why? My iPod, some speakers and my video camera. I would have some crazy dance-offs listening to some JLo and I'd love to capture it all on camera. I can't live without my tunes. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? Try to be a good example for people and make a difference of some sort. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Dominic’s Interview: Dominic isn’t a “true” fan like the rest. He was sent by his agent to audition for the show (boooo!) so he’s only watched seasons 10 – 12. (Is it just me that is irritated by NON-fans scoring a place in the house?). He actually thinks this might help his game as he won’t “overplay” it due to watching past houseguest failed and successful attempts at victory. On the other hand he thinks it could hurt him because he obviously hasn’t seen all the past twists and scenarios Big Brother has used in former seasons; basically, he really will only be expecting the unexpected.
Dom’s looking forward to the endurance challenges, “puzzle” challenges. He’s dreading being a “Have-Not,” taking cold showers and eating Big Brother Slop. Don’t think we will getting any booty shots out of Dominic this season either, he’s keeping stuff wrapped up!
Favorite Dominic Quote: “I’m feeling horrible about nudity, I don’t want any of ya’ll seeing my stuff…” Damn, there goes a live feeder perk.
My Final Thoughts: I guess he’s not THAT bad. He may be entertaining to watch. I guess, out of everyone, I don’t have much of an opinion of him, I’m rather neutral. I do think we have similar viewpoints on past players and the fact that he likes Jeff is a huge plus if Jeff is in the house (I’m trying to visualize Jeff, Jordan and Dominic in an alliance…). Oh, he’s definitely easy on the eyes and as long as he doesn’t become too arrogant I think I will like him ;)
Kalia – The Shopping Whore, Blackberry Addict, and Future BFF of Lindsay Lohan
All about the money and in it to win it! Won’t be seeing a showmance with Kalia as she has a “awesome boyfriend…” Boy, hardly any singles this season! Love her look; love her personality; she’s definitely going to bring some uniqueness to the bunch. The girl’s got strategy, she’s going to lie and trust no one, period. (See quote at bottom of post). She fears that no one will like her in the house, which will in return, mess up her game (strategy). See her CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Kalia Booker Age: 30 Hometown: Philadelphia, Pa. (living in Los Angeles) Occupation: Writer Three adjectives that describe you: Anyone who can describe themselves in three adjectives is pretty boring but if I have to: dramatic, adventurous and gregarious Favorite activities: I love singing, going to the beach, shopping, writing and going out with friends. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? Not being able to talk to my family and friends. I'm really close with my mother and sisters. I talk to them almost every day. Also, being cut off from the world is going to be hard. There are so many modern day technologies I'm addicted to my blackberry, email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: None. Everybody loves me! I'll be there until the end. Which past BIG BROTHER cast member did you like most or least? I loved Dr. Will. He played the crap out of everyone and no one knew the wiser. I loved James for the same reasons. I also love Janelle because she was super cute, but could back it up by winning competitions. She should have won the game. What are you afraid of? Snakes, snakes, snakes and more snakes! I can't see them on television, movies or think about them. I checked my bed for snakes for a solid 12 years because my dad told me there were snakes in the woods behind our house and I assumed they could make their way into my bed. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? I've done a lot that I'm proud of but I feel really great about my recent financial independence. I was really proud of myself when I paid my rent all on my own for the first time. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... Live life and laugh hard while you do it. What would you take into the house and why? My BlackBerry but I'm pretty sure that won't be allowed, and my iPod because I need music…and because it would drown people out when they are annoying me. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? Probably be famous... hang out with Lindsay Lohan or something. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Kalia’s Interview: Kalia is going to be one of my favorite housemates (fingers crossed!) She’s a big fan of Danielle and James (who isn’t?). Kalia plans to take things slow and not win too much too fast. She seems like she’s looking forward to endurance comps. Aside from BB she is a fan of many reality shows including Biggest Loser and Keeping up with the Kardashians. She was nearly cast as “Rudy” when the cast of The Cosby Show was being compiled.
If she was Lindsay Lohan's best friend she would handcuff her to the house until she’s sober/clean/sane. She’d also make her rewatch The Parent Trap and remind her of her younger days. She feels the girl needs some good people in her life. Last but not least, Kalia is missing her Blackberry!
Favorite Kalia Quote: “…Everyone goes in saying they’re not going to play an emotional game and then they fall apart… I’m actually going to go in and do exactly what I said I’m going to do which is lie to everyone and trust that no one is going to tell me the truth.”
My Final Thoughts: Can’t wait to see more of Kalia. Hopefully Big Brother is a generous supplier of alcoholic beverages this season… If so, we may see more of this from Kalia! This is something she posted on one of her sites (Tumblr) after a few glasses of wine. Thank you OnlineBigBrother for the YouTube vid.
Keith – The Angels Master, Playboy Wannabe, Genuine Heartwarming Ken
Keith is close to his family and also has an identical twin brother! Including family, he states he also left behind his church and his cell phone (again?!) to come on Big Brother. Keith’s strategic plan for the game is to get in an alliance with three other female housemates and call themselves “Keith’s Angels.” (I really hope he’s not for real). Each of them will then have “mini alliances” of two outside of their original alliance… basically in the end he’s hoping “Keith’s Angels” will rule the house. He seems to think the key to the game isn’t the competitions, it’s about who can manipulate and influence votes the best. See his CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Keith Henderson Age: 32 Hometown: Bolingbrook, Ill. Occupation: Human Resources Manager Three adjectives that describe you: Charming, adorable and kiss-ass Favorite activities: Working out, hanging out with my friends, dancing, writing poetry, going to church and doing anything spontaneous. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? Nothing - I deal with human capital (people) on a regular basis. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: I'm going to use my HR charm to get people to trust and love me and then I will stab them if I need to. I'll have the women swooning over me and the guys wanting to be on my team. It's the perfect strategy. Which past BIG BROTHER cast member did you like most or least? I loved BB2 Chill Town, first-ever alliance. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? There are too many to mention, but I would say "Genuine Ken" (on Hulu) and being a successful HR professional. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... Professional Keith would say: You can't believe in a dream if you can't believe in yourself. Playboy Keith would say: Work all day, grind all night! What would you take into the house and why? My toothbrush, because my smile is key, and a Bible to keep me grounded. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? Share the cash prize with my family and hope that it would open doors for me to do more acting. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Keith’s Interview: Keith is a fan of the show and has watched all 12 seasons. He actually watches a lot of reality television in general, including: Jersey Shore, Housewives of Orange County, The Real World and Flavor of Love. We also have another “Dr. Will” fan in the house. Keith admires his strategic gameplay and energy he brought to the house. He says the same about “Evel Dick,” and hopes he can bring the same gameplay and possess the same power of “running the house.”
Keith does bring up interesting points about religion and the Big Brother house. He believes other past housemates have “forgotten their religion” while in the house (and he names past guests like Ollie who was extremely religious upon entering the house and then began swearing and carrying on a very hot and heavy sexual relationship with former houseguest April; Keith also brings up Jamica and how she also “forgot” about her religion). I found this to be pretty interesting and I’d never thought of how the Big Brother house can impact ones religion. Anyhow, Keith states this will not be something that will happen to him; while he may do what it takes to win the game, he will “constantly keep” his “head in prayer.”
Something interesting worth noting: Keith was recently a contestant on another reality show called Genuine Ken. Whitney Port (The Hills and The City) hosted as 8 guys competed to become “The Great American Boyfriend.” Keith was known as the “Heartwarming Ken.”
The following is a video bio from the show Genuine Ken that filmed and aired earlier this year:
(Courtesy of Hulu.com) *Note* You can also view this series in its entirety by clicking this link – HULU
My Final Thoughts: First impressions are that he’s cocky and chauvinistic. He thinks he’s a ladies man. These may be harsh for a first impression but I am almost convinced I will not like him. I think he’s got a goofy side to him but there is less humor and more immaturity involved and I’m not sure I will be able to tolerate his arrogant ways. I do, however, believe he is intelligent and that may get him further in the game.
Lawon – The already winning, “Handsomexy,” Buckwild Fashionista
Lawon is hilarious! I’m excited to see him interact with the other members of the Big Brother household. He’s leaving behind his cherished friendships for the Big Brother game. As far as uniqueness, he believes that his sense of fashion is going make him stand out from the rest because it’s “BUCKWILD” and “SICK.” While he’s not looking for a showmance he’s going to do whatever it takes to win BB (man what I would give to see Lawon and Marcellas in the same house together; I know it’s been said before but I think they would be great friends!). See his CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Lawon Exum Age: 39 Hometown: Urbana, Ill. (living in Inglewood, Calif.) Occupation: Legal File Clerk Three adjectives that describe you: "Handsomexy" (handsome and sexy, because I am inside and out) and clever. Favorite activities: My favorite activity is exercising because it keeps my mind sharp and me looking "handsomefied." I also like to travel with friends to experience different cities and cultures. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? The most difficult part will be adjusting to housemate's hygiene habits. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: I will use my personality, style, gift of gab and cleverness to win Big Brother. Which past BIG BROTHER cast member did you like most or least? I love Will from the second season. I loved how he was upfront and honest from the beginning of the game. He used his looks and personality to win votes and the game. What are you afraid of? Roaches. Ever since I was a child I have been afraid of them. I presume because they represent filth. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? There are so many! If I have to pick one it would be losing 54 pounds and maintaining my weight loss for the last 15 years. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... some people got IT and some people don't. Now go get it. What would you take into the house and why? My face clippers so I can always stay camera-ready, a treadmill to stay in shape and a laptop so I can stay in touch with my family and friends. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? I would show the entertainment world that there are still normal human beings in Hollywood and give back to my hometown, Urbana, Illinois. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Lawon’s Interview: He describes himself as “unexpected, vivacious, and handsomexy.” He states his favorite season of Big Brother is “season 1” with “Will” (which he is obviously mistaken because neither of Will’s seasons were season 1). But, he can relate to the honest and charming manipulator (yeah, we shall see about that). He LOVES The Housewives of New Jersey (Loves, Loves, Loves!). Lawon is rather picky about personal hygiene so we’ll see how he does as a Have-Not with those cold showers!
He doesn’t fear the game or the twists. He thinks “life is a twist” and he’s just expecting anything. (I wish you could see this one, he’s actually quite hilarious!) He finds himself to be unique and says that there is no comparing him to any other houseguest (no mention of Marcellas? I wonder if he watched the All-Star season?). Lawon plans to use a few strategic lies, like lying about college; he’s going to tell the fellow houseguests he just graduated (when in reality it’s been nearly 10 years); he’s a legal file clerk but apparently he feels that he doesn’t want to appear too professional or mature?
Favorite Lawon Quote: “My fashion sense gonna be SICK!” Haha!
My Final Thoughts: Lawon is going to be entertaining. I feel bad comparing these houseguests to houseguests of the past but it’s one of the easiest ways to explain their personality; Lawon straight up reminds me of Marcellas in every way. I think Lawon will truly bring diversity to the house with his uniqueness and he’s probably going to be the top runner for providing us live feeders endless laughs. Definitely another I’ll be rooting for.
Porsche – The Cell Phone Slanging, Showmance Hopeful, Pretty Girl
Honestly, there is nothing that stands out about Porsche that screams unique. She thinks that her pretty face and the fact she won’t be a bitch to everyone makes her a unique housemate but I disagree. I think the fact that her favorite player was Natalie from BB 11 speaks volumes. I can’t help but wonder if she’s a fan of Big Brother or if she was thrown into the process by an agent.
Porsche is open to a showmance if she “clicks” with anyone. She states that nothing will stop her from winning; I can definitely see her using a showmance to get what she wants out of this experience, a win. See her CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Porsche Briggs Age: 23 Hometown: Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (living in Miami Beach, Fla.) Occupation: VIP Cocktail Waitress Three adjectives that describe you: Sexy, bitchy and clever Favorite activities: Going to the beach, then out to eat and then out to the clubs What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? Not having my dog for three months. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: Try not to blow up at too many people. Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most or least? Natalie Martinez - I love that she straight up lied to everyone and it worked. We are around the same age so I hate that she had the idea and chance before me. What are you afraid of? Sharks What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? Taking care of my father after his heart attack. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... fear is stupid, so are regrets. What would you take into the house and why? Sunglasses - my must have! Rosebud lip balm - you never know. And, bikinis - they are what I live in. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? Ride it out as long as possible. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Porsche’s Interview: She claims to be a big fan but I still can’t help but wonder if she crammed in a few seasons last minute when she knew she could be a potential housemate. She’s afraid of being compared to Jen from season 8 which is funny because that was the similarity that struck me within 15 seconds of listening to her CBS interview.
Porsche states she has a “bit of a temper” and will “act” before she “thinks” which leads me to believe if there is anyone she doesn’t get on with, we’ll be in for quite a show on the live feeds. She likes other reality competition based shows like Survivor and The Amazing Race (no mention of Bad Girls Club, I like her more already). She says that while she gets a lot of “perks” because of her waitressing job; she isn’t “stuck up” nor does she “use men.” Porsche also plans to lie about her occupation and say she is a student because she doesn’t want people to know she makes a lot of money. Man, obviously I didn’t get the memo. All these college classes and I could have just become a hot waitress? Wtf?
Favorite Porsche quote: “I left behind a ton of friends, my family, and both of my cell phones, to be on Big Brother…” *Rolls Eyes* …I told you it was painful.
My Final Thoughts: It pained me not only to make it through the 2 minute CBS video but to make it through the 8 minute Superpass interview. That is a total of 10 minutes! I can only imagine what the Live Feeds are going to be like. She reminds me nothing of Janelle (whom I loved) and don’t see her being a huge threat in the game; again, she seems to be more like Jen (pause and remember crying over her horrible memory wall photo), but worse.
I really want to be wrong about my first initial impressions of her. I heard through the rumor mill that Porsche and Janelle were very good friends (don’t quote me because I don’t know if it is true) and if it IS true, I’m praying that Porsche will surprise us and I will enjoy watching her nearly as much as Janelle. At this point, I can’t say any more until I see her in the first physical competition of the season. If she isn’t afraid to get dirty and bust her ass to win, I will toss all preconceptions.
Shelly – The Classy, Non-Barbie, Non-Booty-Showing, Average American
Shelly is married and is also the mother of a little girl. She states she represents the “average American” which brings her own uniqueness to the Big Brother game and wants to show how average people can go in and win it. One of her biggest fears about going in to the Big Brother house is the cameras; she doesn’t want any booty shots and converted all of her underwear into “shorts.” See her CBS.com bio and video below:
Name: Shelly Moore Age: 41 Hometown: Centerville, Ohio (living in Prairieville, La.) Occupation: Outdoors Industry Executive Three adjectives that describe you: Dynamic, tenacious and giving Favorite activities: I like to play with my family. We play wall ball and Super Mario is hilarious. We like to ride bikes and scooters and swim a lot. I also like collecting all the junk mail, then saving it, and then putting all of it in a postage paid junk mail envelope to send back to one of the senders. What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the BIG BROTHER house? (Dealing with) the filth of people who don't clean up their stuff. The other hard part would be sleeping in a room with people who snore. Also, popping a zit in front of America would be a new challenge. Strategy for winning BIG BROTHER: I'm a leader, a ring leader and a team builder. I would try to pull a good group of people together that could mutually benefit from the arrangement. Which past BIG BROTHER cast member did you like most or least? I loved Jeff and Jordan. They were genuine and real. They were also extremely classy and represented themselves very well as human beings. What are you afraid of? Snakes and really tall buildings. What is the accomplishment you are most proud of? My daughter. Every smile, every hug, every word... she is part of her daddy and me. Finish this sentence: My life's motto is... It is not the critic who counts, not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man in the arena... Teddy Roosevelt What would you take into the house and why? My husband and daughter smiling in a picture, Monster Blue (energy drink) and ear plugs. What would you do if BIG BROTHER made you famous? I would make a bee line to St. Jude's hospital with my little girl and do all we could for those kids. (Courtesy of CBS.com)
Superpass Big Brother 13 Preseason (sorry, can’t legally post these):
Shelly’s Interview: I’m really loving Shelly. She reminds me of last season’s Kathy (but more mature and “classy” – no offense). We have another fan of the show; she’s been watching since the first season of Big Brother and she’s a fellow “live feeder” which always gains respect in my book. Shelly reiterates that her favorite season was “Jeff and Jordan’s” season because she loves the classy way they played the game (Ooooh it’s going to be exciting if Jeff and Jordan are picked to return to the house, but I’ll get back to that later ;)
She’s passionate about giving back and would like to start a program called “Capes for Kids” at St. Jude’s Hospital. If she won she’d also arrange a meeting between her 8 year-old daughter and Justin Beiber (awww, cute answer). She seems to be quite paranoid about any inappropriate images of her surfacing from the show (just my opinion). She’s also disabled her Twitter and Facebook until she’s out of the house. Shelly is very conscientious of her family and how her experience as a housemate will affect them. I really like that about her.
Favorite Shelly quote: (Shelly on alliance names) “…It won’t be the BRAH-GADE!” She then talks about how she’s a smoker and how smokers “bond” so maybe it will be a “Smokin’…” alliance name :) “I’ve got a couple names up my sleeve for sure…”
My Final Thought: Shelly is a breath of fresh air. I don’t think we’ll see too much drama from her. She seems like an “average” and “classy,” middle-class, southern wife and mother. While she is a Vice President at a major company (not sure where it is yet) I don’t think her personality portrays a stereotypical VP. I also can’t see her selling her soul like others (who shall remain nameless) for the Big Brother game. I will be rooting her on all the way and I believe based upon first impressions, she will be a strong contender to win.
